Morning everyone

I'm in the middle of renovating my house and would like to install in wall speakers in the main bedroom to keep it nice and tidy.

I've seen quite a bit of choice in the in wall market, but wondered if it's possible to have in wall speakers with in built amplification?

Looking for good quality, but unfortunately don't have unlimited funds so thinking absolute max £1000 per pair but ideallly bit less

any ideas?

I have never heard of active in wall or ceiling speakers.

One major problem would be ventilation of the amp section. They would overheat if air was not allowed to circulate through them.

At least Cambridge Audio makes powered speakers for their Incognito system. Very modest power though, and only A-Bus input.

Active speakers need less power than passive ones, and many active speakers use Class D at least for the woofer -- so heat isn't necessarily a big problem.

Check out the 'Custom Installation' market.
