I listen to the same thing in my car as I listen to at home. Much Metal. It was a much more pleasurable experience before I had my soundsystem stolen from my car November before last.

:-(

I do tend to listen to BBC London 94.9 in my work van though. I take a couple of CDs incase the topics that day don't interest me, but the CD player in my van is playing up, so more often than not I'm listening to Vanessa Feltz (OK), Robert Elms (not too bad, can be a bit sanctimonious at times) and Danny Baker (usually great).

Hardly ever listen to music radio stations. When I'm at work in an exchange I'll stick Absolute on, as it's got something for everyone.

Well the only CD in my car (actually, must retrieve it before it goes to the great Saab graveyard) is "Life In Cartoon Motion" by Mika. Kids love it. I, however, dare not drive across any bridges whilst listening lest I have the urge to go over the side.

Absolute Radio (n‚e Virgin), Magic sometimes, Radio 2, Radio 5 Live, Test Match Special on long wave.

On the drive in to work in the morning I listen to Chris Moyles (don't even bother, most people who hate him have never even bothered listening to him, so save it!).

On the way home, it depends on the time, if it's before 5pm I'll have Five Live on (although I'm getting increasingly irritated with their presenters' feeble Paxman impressions, you shouldn't badger and argue with someone about a subject you don't understand, you just make yourself look stupid!), after 5pm Radio 4 goes on for PM, the News and whatever the Comedy program is at 6:30.

If I'm still in the car at 7 then Radio 2 goes on, unless it's a Wednesday and Mike Harding's Folk show is on, in which case I'll be swerving across the road while I desperately try to find a cd to make the horrible singing go away!

And Fridays between 3 and 4 is Kermode time! There is no more depressing a feeling switching to 909 at 3pm on a Friday, only to find Andrew Collins sitting in for the good Doctor!

After years of driving VW's I changed to Mitsubishi for a soft off-roader Outlander.

I could not believe the sound system it came with. A Rockford Fosgate 650-watt amplifier, 25cm subwoofer, 7 predetermined equalizer setting with nine speakers and a built in 30gb hard drive to the sat-nav cd player. Every journey is an audio delight made up of playlists from the hard drive. I'm clocking up more miles than I should lol

that's the biggest let-down with the Saab 9-3 to be honest, the sound system is rubbish, weak tuner, muddy sound, no balance to the audio at all, the treble is weak, the bass is overblown and muffles everything else. The 57-plate Astra I had was exactly the same, although the tuner was a lot stronger, so I suspect it's the shark-fin aerial the Saab has that's causing that problem.

I seriously need to look into getting some upgrades, don't need to worry about the warranty now they're going bust!

I usually start off with Radio 2 and then stick a cd on. My commute is about an hour so I can listen to a whole cd before I get to work. I usually start with 2 or 3 cds on Monday but more are added during the week and on Friday they are all brought back into the house. Any new purchases generally get listened to first in the car, unfortunately it tends to be where I get to listen to most music.

If my hifi was in a dedicated listening room at home instead of constantly competing with Eastenders and America's Next Top Model I'd get a lot more quality listening done. For now it's about 80/20 car/home.

On the drive in to work in the morning I listen to Chris Moyles (don't even bother, most people who hate him have never even bothered listening to him, so save it!).

Til recently I listened to him but I really tired of his mocking of his (far funnier) colleagues whilst remaining arrogant and self important. He also flogs every joke for about 10 minutes and without the teams interjection he would go on for longer. If the rest of the team didn't turn in he would be found wanting ...massively.

I do like the 30 minutes without 'music' though. I just wish that Scot Mills would do something similar as he plays far too much.

I now download his podcast (sans musique) and listen to that (on my Viewty and Shure se110 s) as I go to work. Really cheers me up at 6 am.

Well, I don't think any one person could manage a show like that on their own, it's the interaction between all of them that makes it work. Having said that however, I don't find "Comedy" Dave at all funny. I know that's supposed to be the joke, that he isn't funny, but call me old-fashioned, I don't find not being funny, funny, if you follow me... The rubbish quizzes are good though.

It'll be interesting to see how things work next week, Moyles is climbing Kilimanjaro and Vernon "Bolton" Kay is standing in for him, with the rest of the team (rather than all of them having the week off), so it'll be a good indication of just how much of the show is down to the team and how much is down to Moyles.

And I made myself hoarse singing along to the Golden hour a couple of weeks ago, I don't normally get to hear that bit as I'm not usually in the car at that time on a Friday, but it was class!

What really annoys me is people like my colleague, who claims never to have listened to the show and then accused him of being a lech who puts off all the female guests (lech yes, but it's clearly a joke and it's very rare that any of the female guests don't play along) and of being homophobic, which is an absolute joke, his producer is gay and if anything Moyles flirts with the male guests more than the female ones! How can you criticise when you've just admitted you don't listen to the show? It was the same with his appearance on The One Show this week, I missed it but apparently there were two official complaints and "thousands" of messages of protest on the BBC's web forums. Not because of anything he'd said or done whilst on the show, but simply because he was there! I find it unbelievable the level of hate that follows him around, I just don't get it.

I do like the 30 minutes without 'music' though. I just wish that Scot Mills would do something similar as he plays far too much.

Not a fan of Mills I'm afraid, I find his show far too structured and he relies on weak formats (like Oh, What's Occuring) too much. He and Chris Evans (Mr. Formulaic-Radio-Show) are the reason I listen to Radio 4 in the afternoon now!

I used to listen to Moyles in the early days (97-99) but have tried again lately, and find it's just the same old stuff from a decade ago.

Now listen to Shawn Keaveny / Steve Lamacq on 6music (DAB) in the car.

It's the banter between Scott, Chappers and Bex that is the show. Similar to Moyles but without the ego. Scott's ability to mock himself and the level of genuine interaction is what makes the show. Along with a large in put from his sometimes dubious audience I find it really rather refreshing.

I would disagree that Mills' show is more formulaic as Moyles has quizzes on set days, guests in at roughly the same time etc. etc.How long did they batter Car Park Catch Phrase for ?

I'm suprised you felt you needed to mention the Kilimanjaro climb as he has been banging on and on about nothing else for weeks. I know that it is to raise money but he has really milked the whole 'I was at the gym today...out on a 5 mile walk......twittering on my walk home'..etc.etc as is his want. This has finally made me turn him off...but, I like Vern so will be listening next week.

Hmmm, unfortunately I've always found Chappers pretty annoying as well, just the nickname "Chappers" gets me unreasonably irritated!

I don't know what it is about Scott, perhaps it's an age thing, I think I'm about the same age as Moyles and I just find myself agreeing with him on lots of things, whereas most of the time I'm just shouting at Scott as he seems to be blissfully unaware of the world around him, much like Aled as it happens, I just sit there disbelieving at some of the (to me) obvious things that they've never heard of.

I would disagree that Mills' show is more formulaic as Moyles has quizzes on set days, guests in at roughly the same time etc. etc.

Must just be the time that I hear him then, I always seem to catch the same thing on Mills' show regardless of which day of the week it is. Tedious Link is losing its appeal though since the changed it in the new year.

No idea, I don't generally hear much of the show beyond about 9:20 I'm afraid.

Well, it's a little harsh to criticise for that, it's the biggest charity fundraiser after Children in Need (and Wogan flogs that to death), so I'd guess pushing it is part of the requirement. Besides he uses his life for material and this is the single biggest thing he's done, so it's not surprising it's taking up a large part of his attention. Anyway, it's working, if Moyles hadn't been involved they'd have only raised a tenth of the money they have raised so far.

The only thing I don't like about Moyles is he has a tendancy to glorify drinking, which bothers me, probably because I don't drink myself, got no problem with other people drinking, I just don't like it when people hold it up as something to be proud of.

Depends on the day, or more importantly time of day.

If there is a football match on and I am in the car then I am listening to commentary of the match - 5live/TalkSport.
Otherwise in the car/van I will have a CD or XFM (if available)

If I am at home and Wolves are playing, then I will be listening to the match on the interenet.

Normal home listening will be on the media centre.

About the only thing I agree with him on.

If you don't listen to Steve Wright's golden oldies at 3 every weekday you might as well just die, it's essential listening. In my work we have 10 people putting on bets as to how many songs we can sing the lyrics to

I generally stick the ipod on in the car, but have more and more started listening to real radio just for some of the banter.

sadly its the car where i get to listen to most of the music, hopefully when we move flat it'll be easier to get more listening done.
