Importing Blu Ray Panasonic BD30 from USA

Well i decided to import the BD30 Profile 1.1 player from the US. Great prices on amazon at the moment. Anyone else ever import electronics from the US?

Just a word of warning. I'm getting nailed for Customs for all my recent parcels from the US bought via Amazon. Even looks like two HD-DVD's are going to cost me £12 (£8 of which is the scandalous Royal Mail "handling" charge). Make sure the saving is really good!

Also make sure that you aren't going to need some sort of step-down transformer to run it.

Yes, I got my LG BH-100 from the US. Big mistake, no product support, back-up nor warranty and it was obsolete in 3 months. Expensive to return for product firmware updates and the warranty is 3 months continental US only.

I figure ?275 is not a huge gamble. I will only use it for Region A discs so its use is not going to be major. The older model here in Ireland sells for ?790 to ?900.
