I like Leema

A month or so ago I posted on here that I was looking for a CD player to go with my recently acquired Leema Pulse and PMC DB1 Golds. To cut a long story short I bought a Leema Stream 2 from a private individual. The transaction went very well and the player is in immaculate condition but afterwards when I tried to switch the warranty there was an issue with the date of manufacture. The guy I bought it off said it was a year old and Leema's records had it as having been supplied in fact four years ago.

So, without assuming anything, I had mixed feelings, as you may imagine. Anyway the next day Leema got back to me to say they would honour the warranty anyway, giving me four years.

This is just to confirm what many people already know, that Leema have amazingly brilliant customer service and product support.

And the kit sounds great.

Anyone else got evidence of Leema's general all round wonderfulness, sonic or otherwise, feel free to hit reply.

Nope. no idea. ;)

I would guess that if you have no reasons to return such items (ie they work just well and dandy) then you would never have any experience of their 'general all round wonderfulness'. :)

Dear heart, you may have great hearing but your eyesight and memory retention is decidedly iffy. ;)

Bless you, obviously too early on a Saturday for sarcasm. :shifty:

Lost a bit of touch with what is going on but is Leema well and alive then after the recent 'administrators are in' remarks?

regards

Very good point. I have not heard anything since.

Normally when administrators in you don't come bouncing back (unless the Chinese have taken you over that is).

It seems that Leema Acoustics were bought out by a nearby company Davlec Ltd. in Welshpool (director Nia Davies) who were previously a sub-contractor for producing Leema's circuit boards.

I don't know what future plans they have though.

Their website is still going. The OP has, according to his initial post, had recent communication with Leema. Strange one.

Certainly, from personal experience, Leema's customer care/aftersales is faultless.

Why is it strange?

No one has said they have stopped trading. Companies that have been bought out after receivership frequently continue trading.

A website indicates nothing unless it has up-to-date news / information. There are hopelessly out-of-date websites belonging to companies that are thriving and fully up-to-date websites from companies that are n trouble. They tell you nothing.

Anyway, this has all been covered before (weeks ago in this case). If you want to do the research please do. You have more reason to than I do.

I hope Leema bounce back whoever owns them now.

Perhaps you would like to direct that terse reply to DM, as he asked the question and not me. I have no reason to "research" Leema's situation.

I get fed-up with all this "my amp is superior, and any others are s***e" playground mentally.

The headphone issue is past tense.

Nope - probably won't for some time, unless a client from that area suddenly springs up. Anyway, as you commented a while back, I'll probably say I don't like it even if it does impress.

I had a Leema Pulse once, cracking little amp, finished in black with those cool blue lights. I loved the sound, i love the design, everything was just spot on. I had a choice, to either buy a Pulse or Nait XS. I auditioned both, Pulse was a clear winner. I hope that they'll survive as a company. I think it all went wrong for them after they introduced Stream and Pulse mark ii, it had this horrible, freewiev tuner box sort of design, really bad.

Yeah I compared mine with XS and Caspian and preferred the Pulse.

Agree the MKIII was a designer's nightmare, but ultimately, they were, according to David, reluctant in pushing the brand.

i demo'd the naim xs and heed before trying the leema elements, the heed was outclassed by both leema and naim, i prefered the leema to the naim... a much smoother presentation and all round better performance. both cracking amps in there own way, but using the kef ls50's the leema smoothed out the rough edges making it a more comfortable listen.
