I guess talks of nits on Oleds no longer consist after the 2017 Oleds were claimed to be 1000 nits?

According to reviews my LG has 650 nits for a 2016 TV and that was roughly the same reading as the 2017 Oled TVs too which were claimed to be 1000 nits. Now 2018 no talk of nits anymore on the Oled TVs. I guess they just peaked and that was that do you think?

It's hard to get any more brightness out of Oled tech. LG has managed to get another 100nits out of their 2018 Oled, I'm suspecting that is as far as it goes for now.

This is one limiting factor of Oled tech especially with HDR content. Except you watching in a very dark room some HDR content looks too dark. With normal SDR content Oled looks great, but I still find some dark scenes too dark for my liking.
 
Screen burn could also be a reason why LG are hesitant to ramp up brightness.

It's probably doable but I understand why they may not.

Besides, I personally think 800 nits on a full screen or smaller pattern is probably enough for most anyway.
