As per my other thread I decided upon my setup:
B&W CM1 (Front)
B&W CMC (Centre)
B&W 686 (Rear)
REL T5 (Sub)
I found the CM1s when partnered with the REL sub to be much more musical than KEFs offerings - I'd heard the Q500s and R300s.and whilst the R300s were immersive and had phenominal bass extension for their size the top end wasn't open enough for my tastes.
I'll be partnering them with an Onkyo TX-NR609 to begin with (Bi-amping the fronts, naturally) but will upgrade that autumn time if I don't find it musical enough.
I hope it will be sufficient, I had put serious thought in to the CM5s up front unfortunately I couldn't find anyone in Devon or Somerset who could demo me a set so was unable to decide if they're worth the price premium over the CM1s.
That REL sub really seemed to add all that was required to fully extend the bass of the CM1s however, even Massive Attack's Teardrop and The Prodigy's Invaders Must Die were handled with aplomb.
Just looking forward to the call next week to say they have arrived!
:bounce: Excited!
