I bought the HRT Music streamer, now looking for amp+speakers

Hi, I bought myself a HRT Music streamer (basic red version), now I am looking for a new amp + speakers. I already own a MacBook and an Ipod Touch as remote.

Any suggestions my budget is 800 pounds (I want to buy amp+speakers)

Well, I'd say Totem Dreamcatchers with a NAD amp, but not knowing much your room, preferences for sound, whether you'd like standmounts or floorstanding, it's hard to say

If you're using the iPod Touch to control volume then how about some active speakers? Both the Acoustic Energy AE22 Active and Quad 12L Studio Active are around your budget.

I don't care if it is Floorstander or Standmount, I like rock, pop, metal music. My room is a medium sized about 6 x 5 mtrs. (i don't know feet, cause Iam from Europe).

I prefer big soundstage, tight bass and soft high, because metal can sound harsh with bright speakers.

Then the Totems would be too small, and the Nad doesn't have a particularly tight bass though it meets your other criteria.

How can I compare this HRT streamer with a normal cd player?

Can it compete against a marantz 6003 or even to a naim 5i?
