I am getting a bit fed up with Audio Affair. Every now and again I seem to order a LP or two and an e-mail is sent a few days later advising that they are out of stock...would you like another one (no I would not as I would have ordered another one!!!). Why not place on their website that they do not have these LP's in stock instead of advertising that there actually is stock. I know they get their LP's from the USA but still that is no excuse, update your website more often! Infuriating.

Find another supplier?

Email to confirm the item is in stock before ordering or use another supplier, HMV are shockingly reasonable on vinyl.

I am looking for audiophile pressings so HMV would not stock these.

Just trying to help but when you say audiophile pressings that is 180gram vinyl?

Lots here, http://hmv.com/hmvweb/simpleMultiSearch.do?searchUID=&pGroupID=-1&adultFlag=false&simpleSearchString=180g+vinyl&primaryID=0

I appreciate your help indeed. Most are pressed on 180gm vinyl but they are mastered from the original master tapes and recorded using valve amplification from Mobile fidelity, classic records, acoustech, sundazed etc 🙂

HMV do stock mobilefidelity & Sundazed, may be worth a gander, not sure if prices are competitive, but they usually deliver quickly in my experience.

I must admit I'm delighted to see so many firms out there turning out reissues of some of these older titles - the guys at 4 Men With Beards, Matador, Classic Records, etc., turn out some great stuff. By the same token, it's massively dispiriting to hear of pressing quality not being as good as it could at times given the prices asked. Also, do check out some other pressings - some bog standard vinyl sounds superb and it's the quality of the mastering that counts not the vinyl in the long run. Some German, UK and Japanese pressings on what you'd consider thin vinyl are truly excellent.

And I'd imagine Audio Affair will be along sometime soon - they're quite prolific on the forum of late so assume they'll answer soon.

Amazon.Com and Amazon uk.

With Amazon UK go for the US sellers, recent examples Mumford and Sons £12.50 delivered, the new Kings Of Leon again about £13 delivered. P/P from the States is £1.24, takes up to 10 days.

All have been well packed, with cardboard mailers, excellent quality with no warped discs.

IMHO US pressings are on another planet compared to UK, much, much better.

Why not go to a recognised vinyl website or dealer instead of a hi-fi outlet?

Sorry to hear if there have been some delays. We do not source vinyl from the USA - we buy from UK supplier F Minor and currently have over 1500 audiophile LPs in stock so do keep a good stock holding to get orders out as quickly as we can.

Sometimes we have many of a single title in stock or we get a run on a popular title and it goes out of stock more quickly than expected and we're then at the mercy of the supplier.

Some titles on our website are not shown as in stock, but we would be happy to provide a complete stock listing of titles before you order, or simply give us a call to check dispatch times before ordering. You're also very welcome to visit us and browse our LP range in store, have a coffee and sit down to listen to a few demo LPs.

I will have to check in future when I purchase. I must say that I'm happy with the quality of the vinyl I have bought from you so far- hence I get frustrated when I'm not getting the service required.
