Hi all,

No doubt this has been raised several time before, but i cannot seem to find a simple and definative answer. How do i stream from a naim uniti 2 to a sonos speaker? What / do i need a bridge, connect etc and if i introduce a NAS to the equation, how will this work?

Many Thaks,

Looks like you'd need a Sonos Connect, and run a cable from the Naim's line-out to the input on the Connect: that way you could hear whatever the Naim was playing on your Sonos speaker(s). But you won't be able to control the Uniti from the Sonos control app - you'll need to juggle both the Sonos and Naim apps on your smartphone or tablet.

Same goes with the idea of adding a NAS: once it's connected into your network, both the Naim and the Sonos will be able to access the content on it. but seperately, and again with app-juggling. And you won't need the Sonos Connect.

If you were going to spend the price of a Connect plus a Sonos speaker in order to play your Uniti through a remote speaker, might be worth thinking about the new Naim Mu-so Qb, which offers true multiroom operation/synchronisation with the Uniti, and will work from the same app.

Haven't heard it yet, but the initial reports seem to be very encouraging, so I'm looking forward to hearing it at Bristol.

I have the best of both worlds. WD MyBookLive (NAS) for music storage which supplies music to my Sonos Play 1 in the bedroom and Cyrus One amp which plugs into a Sonos Connect for lounge listening. The NAS is connected to my router.
