how to set up amp for 6.1

hi all

i want to use my denon avr1906 to give me 6.1 as i have a old center speaker that im not using. just how do you go about telling the amp that its there also do you just put in to one of the surround back channels?

I suggest you check the manual to see which surround back channel to connect it to, it probably doesn't matter. Then run the auto setup and it should recognise the speaker. Good luck.

In the manual set up of my 1909 select setting up speakers and selct surround speakers this gives me a choice to select back surround speakers to none one or two. may be the same on the 1906?

i should really know this as i work in the industry. but have never done it so didn't know if the amp would know it was a single speaker or just flag up no SBR or L. don't think mine has the setting for selecting how many spekers are at the back as the 1909 has diffrent fermware same as the 1907 witch my flat mate has.

On my Yamaha DSP Z7, if a single speaker is used it must be connected to the left surround speaker connections. Check your manual. Also in settings check if surround speakers are set to on.
