Home theater systems have become increasingly popular as they allow you to comfortably enjoy your favorite movies right in your living room. The 7.1 home theater system is in demand for large rooms because of its cinematic surround sound enabled by 7 speakers and 1 subwoofer (hence, 7.1). This tutorial will walk you through the steps required to install a new 7.1 home theater system.
Step 1
Set up the receiver
Connect the HDMI cable from your TV/home theater system to the HDMI input ports on your multi channel receiver. This will prepare the 7.1 home theater system for AV transmission.
Step 2
Position the speakers
Put the front center speaker directly under or above your home theater TV. Place the front speakers on the left and the right sides of the TV. Position the two side surround speakers in the middle of the room, at 90 degrees to your front center speaker. Place the two back surround speakers towards the rear of the room, at around 150 degrees from the center speaker. Lastly, set up the subwoofer on one side of the TV in the front. This setup will give you a theater-like surround sound at your home.
Step 3
Connect the speakers to the receiver
Connect all the speakers and the subwoofer to the appropriately labeled ports on your receiver. Your 7.1 home theater speakers are now ready to tingle your ears.
Step 4
Turn on the system
Turn on the home theater system and watch your favorite movies with theater-like sound. The 7.1 home cinema system is now set up.
Enjoy the impeccable soundscape of your 7.1 home theater system!
