if you don't mind me sharing my opinion :p i believe that from new, speakers do need running/burning in, i have noticed a massive difference in my headphones during the first 20 hours of usage, at first the bass and midrange seemed very un defined, and the treble very sharp and odd sounding, but now they sound totally different, i was also comparing them to my other earphones, so i did have a 'point of reference'.

i do believe that loudspeakers would start to sound different as they're used, as they're mechanical, the suspension around the cone would flex and become more free moving, but as for SS amplifiers, and cables etc, they have the same properties, until warmed/cooled, and unless the temperature has gone to an extreme, then they wouldn't change would they? your PC doesn't get faster or slower if it has been used for 20 hours (unless heated up too much)

but oddly, i do believe my system sounds different when I come back to it after a month or so not being used, but it gradually sounds better. this is probably due to an earlier mentioned thing about my ears getting used to the sound (not a new pair of speakers)

OK, I'll say it, you're wrong.

You're also being needlessly confrontational - don't forget that, while people may disagree with you, it doesn't mean they don't respect your opinions.

Everyones allowed to say whatever they like (Within the rules of course)

I dont see why people feel the need to attack anyone else. Just post what you believe and leave somone elses post out of it if you 'know' what their thoughts are

For example - you must by now know what my thoughts are on particular subjects. Quoting me and trying to tell me im wrong will result in one thing only. You know that as does everyone here that knows me

Just post what you believe and leave my post out of it (please)

No confrontation, the OP can take in whatever he/she decides. This should also allow the thread to continue to the end before a mod shuts it down

Now if everyone here feels we should be bickering and trying to attack others that dont hold the same viewpoints - then perhaps I have this forum all wrong.

from my limited experience and many previous posts here, kit absolutely needs buring in time.

my old nad amp definite got better over time, my new audiolab cdq is a heck of a lot better after 40 hrs than from the start ( and i hope it improves with more burn-in time ).

just be patient and give the kit whatever time it needs.

good listening
