Just get this of my chest.. Its taken so many years 2 realize i dnt like the sound the Hifi industry is promoting. Many people are always havin 2 change equipment from cables 2 stands 2 room treatment.. u name it... & still cannot get the sound there looking 4. Why?, cause Hifi systems are not bulit 4 enjoyment any more but 4 acurracy.

I have been 2 many hifi shows & listen 2 many systems & cannot understand why people would want there systems 2 sound so 4ward Raw.... I knw a few systems that are exmept from this... But how did we fall 4 it...

You may listen 2 really costly systems & think that cannot be right. There say its a matter of tatse. But if these costly system were represnting instruments, say in a live gig, people we think there is sum thing seriuosly wrong wth instruments...

The reason why i say this is cause i got a studio, & i listen 2 live instruments everyday. even when a guitarist plays it never sounds as polished as this over accurate systems.

Well so if u have been trying 2 get the right sound from ur system, u may not be doin very much wrong... But its just the way ur system is made 2 sound.

You're forgetting that everyone in the studio (including you), the manufacturers and the consumers have different listening capabilities. A fact of life that seems to elude a lot of people.

Currently listening to: Meat Puppets

In my opinion it's the... Neutral/Analytical/Cold (modern) vs Natural/Musical/Emotional (old)...debate.(eg. Class D vs Class A or SS vs Tubes - SET)

You have to "dig behind" the usual makes to hear this stuff, and many people never do so....which is a shame. I'm not saying it's for everybody, but it should be tried, to at least rule it out. Maybe then there would be a higher percentage of long term satisfaction.

Just a few rambling thoughts

A) Why did it take two years for you to realise?

B) No such thing as a perfect sounding system

C) Hi-fi geeks tend to enjoy upgrading, even if they have a perfectly good sounding set-up.

D) Do you have a music studio?
