Only a couple of cm in size difference between the Sony and my Panny but would make fitting in my rack easier.

Seems the 370,470,and 570 are a muchness for pic and sound. 3D not needed.

Does anybody know from experience rather than a review they have read how these compare in terms of, detail, movement, colour, sound and especially dvd upscaling?

As the BD80 picture wise is similar to the DB60,BD55 and BD35 i would really appreciate your thoughts too.

Thanks,

Cookie Monster,

I have owned both and the Sony is the superior player. I have also owned the BD35 & BD55. In terms of pure picture performance, there was no difference as they all used the same PHL chip.

The Sony is more fluid in motion and renders a sharper and more vibrant image, IMO.

Saying that, the BD80 is still an excellent player and has multi-channel outputs, in case that is a required feature.

Cookie Monster,

DVD upscaling is also superior to the Panasonic.

For £100 or even less, it is a no-brainer - really.

I recently purchased a Pioneer BDP-LX52 (RRP£550), and sold it. I kept the Sony
