How do you get your ipod to play your customised EQ setting?

Sounds simple I know - once you've customised an EQ setting on itunes, called it, say, 'My EQ', and then made this the setting for your music, you should just be able to set your EQ on your ipod to 'Off' and it should play the tracks back according to your personalised settings. Why doesn't it then??!

Because clearly when I do this the music just sounds flat rather than how I've set it up (which you can test by plugging your headphones into your laptop and then checking the same track on your ipod).

Anyone know how to do this so that it does actually work?

Hi John

Thanks for your reply and yes, I did try that (and tried again the other night to check!) but Flat just sounds, well, flat.

I know itunes and ipods aren't perfect but it seems a bit of an omission if you can set a personalised EQ setting on tracks in itunes but not then transfer this on to your ipod?!

Right, small caveat to what I said. iPods will not transfer "custom" EQ settings, only presets - "small speakers", for example.

Have you set the EQ yourself with the sliders on the particular songs, or have you applied presets?

[Edit, yes you have, now that I've read it again.....]
