how do i set my ps3 60gb up for hd sound?

ive just purchaesda denon avr1911 and want to set up my ps3 60gb through this for hd sund. can i do this with my hdmi cable or do i have to use optical lead? and what sound output settings do i put ps3 on? ive got the full 7 speakers. thanks.
