Hello all,

I am currently renovating my house (a stone built 3 bedroom mid terrace) and am thinking about converting the loft into a home cinema room (or a gym). The plan is to either have a screen and prjector or big screen tv, a PS3, DVD player, Onkyo Amp and "style" surround sound speaker system (maybe B&W MT-30 or KEF 3005.2) with a load of bean bags and big cushions to chill out on.

What I am concerned about however, is whether a pitch roof in a loft conversion will have a major effect on sound quality and if so, is there anything I can do about it.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Regards

All quiet on the Western front??

If anyone has any ideas/advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John

Appreciate the problem, but it should be fine. I have my (stereo) hi-fi system in a similar loft conversion with a pitched roof, and it doesn't adversely affect the sound. Provided you'll have room for the big-screen TV/projector and surround system, you'll just need to think carefully about where you place all the speakers.
