Hi all, i have just recently sold my Onkyo TX SR308 and Tannoy SFX Speaker package and i am now looking for a replacement. I still have my Sony BDP S370 Blu Ray player and was wondering would i be best getting another AV Reciever and Speaker package or if i would be best to go for a Home Cinema In A Box. My budget would be around £500. I have listed below a few systems and would like opinions and advice on anyone which owns any of them and which system i would be best going with. Thanks

AV Recievers: Pioneer VSX521 Yamaha RXV371 Sony STRDH820 Onkyo TXNR509 Marantz NR1402

Speaker Packages: Boston Soundware XS Harmon Kardon HKT69 Canton Movie 125MX Jamo A 101 HCS 5

Home Cinema In A Box: Pioneer BC S212 Sony BDVE280 SonyBDVE380 Panasonic SC BTT370

Hi, i don't recommend you use the Sony amp with the Jamo's,i found the sound too hard and tonally the rears didn't seem to have the same tone as the fronts and stood out a bit.If it was me i would try a Yamaha amp or perhaps the Marantz with something slightly larger like the Tannoys, but that would break your budget. All very small speakers come with limitations. Worth testing a HCIB though, i had a demo on a Panasonic tour about 12 months ago and was impressed by how far the systems had come from 5 years ago.

Thanks for the reply Cookie Monster.

what would be your opinion on this amp - http://www.hyperfi.co.uk/sr5003-dolby-truehd-dtshd-master-audio-receiver-bstock-p-1160.html

and then this speaker package - http://www.hyperfi.co.uk/tannoy-sensys-speaker-%C3%82%C2%A3799-p-1029.html

they would be within budget and i know the tannoys don't come with a sub but i can use my mourdant short one at first and get a tannoy sub at a later date.
