Hey there. I'm relatively new in this game and need someone’s help. My system comprises of a Marantz CD5003 CD Player, a pair of B&W 684's and HK 970 Amp. I'm seriously lacking low frequency on this system. I considered buying a proper sub to compensate for the excess mid range and treble. I've looked at reviews on both my CD player as well as speakers and both were superb. The only problem I can think of is my Amp. Anyone with advice?

really weak bass? tried turning up the bass knob on the amp?

To the max. I even bought sound diffuzers / panels to stuck on the walls in my sound room to try and keep the bass in. Before I had the HK I used a Yamaha to drive the B&W's and they were performing much better.
