Your system should gel well, after all it's was the main recomendation from WHF mag a few years back. If you don't mind play a waiting game on ebay try Linn Genki cd player for £400 or Musical Fidelity cd player (A3, A3.2 or X-ray) from £280 - £400.

Speakers....the best bargain in my book is Ruark talisman 2, sound so much better than your MS 904 and will set you back around £250 - £300 but then you will need a more powerful amp to drive them...which the like of Musical fidelity A3 (£280 - £320) would do a great job.

All of the items above I have used in the past, they are build to last well and I can happily say that they will work very well together, good luck

i think by budget we mean how much do you have to spend, otherwise we could recomend anything.
