Hi Ive just joined this and I need some help

right basically I own a panasonic txl37d25b, i have joined lovefilm and as a result love watching blu rays, the trouble is i have to move the ps3 downstairs everytime i want to watch one, so im after a blu ray player, ive looked at the dmp-bdt300 as ideally i want to keep it panasonic as ive read somewhere it that being both panasonic they work together to give the best possible picture, so yeah i want to get that blu ray player but what is really messing my mind up is that i want a home cinema system but i dont know which one to get :/ i am really stuck as i have no idea about them, ideally one with an ipod dock or some sort with a feature to add an ipod dock if thats possible would be good, which ones do you recommend to me? any help will be appreciated

Alternatively here for the amp £249.95 & here for the speakers £269.95 saving another £50.05 + cabling

Or buy a better A/V amp for say £300 ish & have a look on fleabay for some 2nd hand speakers for a good price for example like these or here if you wanted something a bit smaller.

It is best to audition the speakers & amp together 1st to see if it suits your needs & ears. If you buy the amp 1st, then get just 3 good speakers ( eg: 2 Mordant Short Alumni speakers or some mission MX1's & a centre ) to start with you can always add to it later with a subwoofer, floorstanders even more bookshelf speakers & so build yourself a better system.

All in one systems tend to be shy of HDMI inputs if you intend adding things like a ps3, Xbox & other kit. Thats not to say they are no good, it just depends on the individuals needs just be aware of the connectivity & what you may want to add in the future.

Nothing much to avoid in the AV amp side, personally i would stick to main brands, Sony, Marantz, Pioneer, Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon, Arcam to mention a few & a couple of others. Seperates has the advantage of easier to upgrade bits at a time & you can always add to it.

As earlier it's best to go have a listen to a few in your price range before making a purchase whether you decide on a one box system or go down the seperates route.

Rubbish. The only advantage would be that you could use Viera link, enabling you to operate both systems with one remote. That's all. There's no special improvement in picture quality.

I don't think you'll go far wrong with most of the Sony BDP players, with the BDP-S570 top of the pile at the moment (and a bit cheaper than the Panny!).

the sony bdp-s370 is a great little machine. if you look hard enough you should be able to find one for £100.
