Hello everyone!

I'm starting to think about putting together a decent hi-fi system and would appreciate input as I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject.

I am looking for a cd playing separates system, with an additional input from a television. I'm not too bothered about tv sounds, I'm mainly after a decent cd hi-fi. Budget top end is £1000 but I'd prefer to keep the spend down a bit. Second hand is an option and as I'm in no particular rush, I'm happy to check ebay and wait for the right thing to come up.

So, what is worth considering?

Yes, sorry I mean cd player, amp and speakers. It'd just be a stereo input from the tv, so I guess most amps would cater for this.

Having looked through the reviews on this site, I am currently leaning towards a setup like:

NAD C545BEE -> NAD C326BEE -> B&W 685

Any others I should consider before I go and try them out?

nad/B&w is a good option, not heard the marantz set up but my Dad has the warfdale 9.1's which sound really good. so might be worth checking those out as well as the 10.1's since you'd get an even better deal on older speakers.

Also the eb acoustics speakers?
