Hi, i just purchased a marantz PM6004 integrated amp. I've paired it with some AE Aegis evo one speakers

Theyre not biwired, just normal

Now i plug in an rca from the aux of the amp to the tv output

I play music, and what happens is you can barely hear any sound coming out of the speakers, and it sounds all crackly

and this is at max volume

Is the amp faulty or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help

Jay

I'd try the amp with another source such as cd to check if it works OK with that rather than blame the amp straight away. Must admit I've never connected my TV to a stereo amp as you describe. I assume you are using the correct output from your TV and you don't have to set anything up in the TV's menu to use the analogue audio out from it?

Sorry can't be more precise. maybe if you tell us what TV you are using someone may have had experience with the same model?

Maybe if your tv is a recent model, it doesn't have an analogue out? In which case you need either an optical/coaxial lead from the tv into a cheap dac (c £40), then the stereo leads into the amp.

I assume that you mean is you want the audio output from the TV to play through the amplifier?

There will probably be a way to do it but I would need to know what sockets you have on your TV. What is the make and model of your TV?

If your using the TV headphone out into the amp via a 3.5mm to RCA lead it should be pretty straight forward.
I do the same with my TV. May need to go into the sound/speaker settings on the TV to select external speaker.
