Hi-Fi for Keyboard amplification?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone know of a reason to not use my current Hi-Fi setup (Cambridge Audio 540aV2, Monitor Audio RS1, Chord Rumour 4) for amplifying my stage keyboard (Roland RD700). I am using the headphone out of the keyboard (so presumably much quieter than a regular line-out) and will run it such that the keyboard is at max volume and I control the audible volume with the amp. This method should reduce the amount of clipping that might occur.

It sounds ok... not as good as my usual stage amplification (Mackie) but in my move to my apartment, I had to leave my personal amplification behind.

Will this ruin my amp or speakers? Thanks.

I run my electronic drum kit though an old Hitachi ghetto blaster connected to some Eltax floorstanders my Dad gave me. Never had a problem.

I've also been using a Korg Kaosillator I got for Christmas through my A/V system. Again, sounds great and no problems.

I can't see you having issues as long as you don't max it out.
