i've just joined in the hope of finding out some info,i have been out of the hi-fi scene for a godd 13yrs.

my set up at the moment is 1x rotel rb 981 + rc 971 + marantz cd 63 ki.

i have just got hold of a nad 1000 pre amp,can anybody throw some light on this model such as....

production date

cost when new

and is it a step up from the rc 971....have'nt tried it yet as the cd 63 is in for repair!

thanks for that,tried it today with my daughters cd 63 se,.....must say it's a good amp but not for me,i prefer the rc 971

Hi eddy6419

Try a NAD C160 pre amp. The C160 is significantly better then the RC971 and more importantly will work superbly with the CD63 KI and the RB981.
