hello there, iv got the monitor audio rs6's rclcr center and rsw12 and bronze br1s as surrounds, iv currently got them set to small and 80hz, is this correct? because i dont seem to be getting enough bass from the sub. iv by passed the crossover on the sub and done it through my reciever does this all sound fine to you guys or is there something that im doing wrong? iv used a sound meter and iv set all my speakers at 75db but i cant seem to get the sub the same. it a digital meter and keeps moving from 75 to 80.

Personally I would set the speakers to Large (as they are) and adjust the sub manually. This is how I have always done it and I have been happy with the results. Maybe you could try it and see..

(or experiment with the Sub position..)

MUSICRAFT:
Hi fowler

Is the RSW12 new?

Is the phase on the sub and amp (if it's got one) set at 0?

Is the bass being sent (amp settings - if it allows this) to the sub, speakers or sub+speakers?

Room location?

Thanks

Rick @ Musicraft
hi rick, iv just bought the sub pre owned 10 months old, cancelled my order of the bkxls300. the phase is set at 0, the amp does allow for bass to be sent to speakers and sub LFE+main iv got the bass coming through the sub only. my room space is limited so it can only go in one position about 2metres in front of my sitting position my room size is 4m by 3m.

Hi fowler

If you have not already done so than try these options -

Please set the RS6's to large and the rest to small. Set the crossover to 60hz. Set sub to lfe+main. Volume position to around 11 o'clock mark on the sub with eq1 engaged.

If the bass output is still weak than -

Change the phase on te sub from 0 to180.

or

Increase output level on sub output from the amplifier

or

If at all possible try and move the sub close to a corner.

Thanks

Rick @ Musicraft

I'll check my settings tonight Fowler, but I definitely have the receiver doing the biz. My front three speakers are at 80hz and the rears are 100hz I think - I will check the rest tonight - it will be something really simple as I have the volume on my receiver for the sub at -15 and it runs from -20 to +10 and it's very loud!!

Sorry for the delay Fowler. I have my speakers set to small so that the receiver does all the crossover work. I have the front left and right at 80hz, the centre at 90hz and the rears at 100hz. On the sub, I have it set to auto and phase is 0, the rest don't come into the equation as the receiver bypasses that I think. Have a go and let me know what you think.

I put Bolt (bluray) on the other day for the kids. Volume was at -32db and when the "Super bark" came after about 10mins, I heard a loud rumble from upstairs and wondered what the hell it was!!
