About 6 months ago, the hard drive on my 5 year old laptop died. The only way to get it to work again was to do a system reinstall, which deleted all my music. (which foolishly was not backed up - though I can get hold of most of my cds if need be).

I´m looking to buy a new macbook pro soon(ish) to replace my toshiba laptop. I was just wondering how I can add new music onto my iphone without losing the stuff already on there, since my iphone was originally synced with the toshiba.

The reason I ask, is that I installed itunes onto my aunt´s laptop when I bought a cd a few months ago, to transfer the music onto the phone, and I got a message saying that if I wanted to sync with/ or transfer music from a different computer it would delete the existing songs on my iphone.

Is it possible, therefore, to get songs onto an iphone from itunes on more than one computer?

Or is there any other way to keep the stuff on my iphone and continue to add to it from my new computer (when I get it)?

I´d appreciate any help on this.

Thanks

You will need to download a utility which enables you to copy the music from your iPhone to your laptop. If you Google this, you will find that you probably have to pay a little for one of the best ones. I have found a free application called iLinkPod, but don't know whether it's any good. Once you're set up, it shouldn't be too difficult a process. Make sure you do this BEFORE you synch your new computer with your iPhone.
