Help with calibrating my TH-42PZ85B

Hi there,

I got my Panasonic TH-42PZ85B today and would like some help in setting it up, so if there anybody that knows where the settings should be i.e brightness, colour, contrast etc... Could you please post them to me.

Your best bet is to find a DVD with the THX optimiser on it. It comes on any THX certified disc e.g. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and a lot of the Disney Pixard DVDs. For a full list, see here and click on entire list.

Are these disc optimisers generic or specific to the particular disc they are supplied with. The optimisers on my "Raiders of The Lost Ark" and "Temple of Doom" discs seemed to indicate different settings for brightness and contrast for each disc?

They're generic as far as I know. I don't really understand how they can indicate different settings for brightness and contrast as it should just show you a series of test pictures, then you adjust the set to how you think it should be according to the instructions given to you. Did you use the test in different lighting conditions when testing between the two?
