Help what connections do I need?

Just purchased the following TV Samsung LE40A656A LCD I need to connect this to my existing system as currently unable to upgrade this.

Pioneer VSX-C301 (non HDMI amp)

LG DNX190UH (HDMI DVD)

Sky + Box

I plan to wall mount the TV so would like to run as few cables as possible down the wall. My thinking was to run the DVD direct to the TV via the HDMI with an Optical for sound to the amp. Run a second optical to the amp direct from the TV for surround sound from the TV. Finally I guess the only option for the SKY + is to run a SCART to the TV as this is not HDMI or run a SCART to the AMP and another to the TV. Not sure if this is the best option till i upgrade my amp which would mean only the one HDMI to the amp. Any advice appreciated.

I would connect the Optical cable from the Sky + box to the amp and not from the TV to the amp.

I would also connect the Scart cable directly to the TV.

So in summary my best option is

DVD- HDMI to TV with Optical to the amp

SKY+ SCART to the TV with Optical to the amp

leaving me with only 1 SCART + 1 HDMI + the AC power to raggle down the wall

I assume when I upgrade my amp to one which supports HDMI everything will connect directctly to the amp with the HDMI being the only cable running up the wall to the TV?

That's absolutely right. ÿIt does mean that you have to switch on the sound system when you watch TV, but that works well for me.
