Got an Apple TV yesterday and am streaming iTunes and Spotify to the hi fi through it.

I just can't go to bed! Being able to listen to almost anything with a couple of clicks is amazing. I was trying to turn in a couple of hours ago (2 yr old boy and 5 week old girl who have zero respect for weekend lie in) but this darn thing is keeping me up!

I was also just going to have a glass of wine but I've nearly emptied a whole bottle.... doh!

The picture is well chosen then. And if this is what youngsters do to you, just wait till they are teenagers.Straw and wine box spring to mind.

(PS- the Naim obviously makes her hair stand on end too)

Edit- just to mix posts

I'm only on a free account as well... think the premium one is probably a must soon.

yes it sounds a touch better when you enable the high bitrate, it eats broadband though

I did the same thing on Thursday.

A 01:30 finish with a 07:30 start at work the next day is not a good plan.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time though!

Few, not just me then. The AEX and Spotify Premium is a life changing upgrade!! I can't leave the bloody things alone.

Check out my playlists built up from recommendations from others; just type in spotify:user:igglebert to the search bar.

The impact of getting easy access to so much music all at once is very dramatic. I have a best of playlist with starred tracks and then genre playlists with an example track off albums I like, or else you lose track of what you want to go back and listen to.

I thought I'd try Spotify Premium a while back, the idea being to find a new album(s) and set it going uninterrupted whilst I got on with some work, 26 play-lists later and over a thousand tracks discovered purely as a result of browsing I can safely say it has caused my procrastination to take a turn for the worse!

For added insomnia, visit last.fm or spotibot for inspiration (if required), the latter generates random play-lists based on the genre/artists you give it. To make matters worse, I enabled spotify social for further inspiration so receive listening recommendations from a few friends or vice/versa..

Finally, if you are paying for Premium make sure the 'Enable high bit-rate' button is checked in preferences (it wasn't ticked by default)

As a fellow Irish resident Max, I am keen to try out Spotify but find it unavailable...how are you getting around this availability issue ??!

you need to use a proxy server to hide your ip address, then once you have opened a spotify account (start with spotify open) you log in, and download the app...

you will need a little help from someone in a spotify "country" to help you upgrade to premium though..

edit......

go here then paste this

https://www.spotify.com/en/get-started/ into the box, then press go. you will be taken to spotify where you select the "open" option, then open the account and download
