Help - No picture using HDMI lead

Needing some advice please. Just got a TH37PX80-B from JL price matched from S&V - for £599 happy days - after reading so many good things about this set on these pages . Its gives a good freeview picture and good picture from DVD , I have a Toshiba SD360E and I get a picture fine from SCART leads , I've just got a QED HDMI performance cable for it to take advantage of the better picture quality , and the problem is that when I plug in the HDMI cable and unplug the SCART then I done get any picture at all , just a black screen ????? . Looked though the owners manual and looked at all the settings, can't find anything wrong. Am I missing something really easy here ?? - thanks for any advice in advance.

Probably an option on the Tosh to output either scart or hdmi.

There is nothing to set on the TV, it will display whatever is being sent.

Jobs a goodun - its was as you said rewerb - had to set it up from the DVD player , silly me = ) . Ta
