Help please!

I've just got a set of headphones from a website call headphoneuser.co.uk

But when I got them the box had been opened on one side and the void sticker was loose in the packaging, I called them and they said this may have happened in transit?! and argued that it was ok because the main sticker on the front end of the box hadn't been opened. they were only sent in a jiffybag so this could be true but I just wanted to get other opinions on this site.

I've tried to look up this site for other experiences but can't find anything appart from it's owned by a group called Luxtech UK Ltd who also run several other sites like homecinemauser.co.uk and other ......user.co.uk websites.

What should I do if they're trying it on? All advice greatfully recieved.

They do seem to run a lot of different hi-fi related websites.

Their returns policy says:
Any
unwanted headphones cannot be returned once opened due to health laws.
We reserve the right to send any returned headphones back again if we
believe they have been opened and/or used.
This does not affect your legal rights

Not sure what health laws apply to headphones! Besides, if you've told them the box was already open then this shouldn't apply. To be fair to them their http://www.hifiuser.co.uk/ site does allow 28 days for returns.

They're probably okay, but you are covered by the Distance
Selling Regulations, which basically gives you the right to return
anything bought by mail order, online etc within 7 days - without even
having to give a reason! See here for information.

Thanks a bundle for the advice, I gave them another ring and they said to send them back for a replacement. It's looking like the box just got bashed in the post. I've managed to find out more about them, they deal directly with Armour Home, official UK headphone dealers/importers, I called them and they said they were good people so thats deffinitly reasuring, and said my warenty will be supported, I'm awaiting my replacement set to arrive now. Can't wait!

Cheers again for the very quick response!

Success! I am now in possesion of my brand new Grado SR325is's! now all I need is a headphone amp and a good cd player.......

Just thought I'd give my 2pence on this website, they replaced my other set no problem and they were about £20 cheaper than Supafi etc. Only problem is they were delivered in nothing more than a jiffy bag which I find to be a bit lacking for safely delivering a nearly £300 pair of headphones. I don't know how other places package their deliveries but I hope they at least wrap a bit of bubble wrap around it. So if u want to save £20 then I recomend.

Cheers again for advice

This bag thing seems a bit weird to me. I'd want the box. Then again, my wife reckons I've got a problem with boxes...

Sorry, my bad. I didn't mean they just came in a bag, they were sealed in their original box. I was just saying that sending them in a jiffy bag without any other wrapping eg bubble wrap etc seemed daft and left the box in danger of getting damaged in the post, ( which is what happened with the first set they sent me)

Just a thought on the headphones, they seem really bright, when I got them out the box they were verging on painfull to listen to but they have settled down some. Also there's more bass with my iGrado's, excellent detail though, they make my iGrados sound like it's playing through a curtain, guitars really do sound great with these.

Is the less than expected bass because I'm not using a headphone amp? or is it just a matter of burning in?, I think I heard of 300hrs burn in time for these cans!

I'm off to mainline some cookiedough and listen to random vinyl, charity shops are wonderous!
