Help! Airport Express or Squeezebox?

I currently have my music stored as mp3’s on a 1TB Buffalo LinkStation Live but I have to play them through my PS3 to my 2400es. I’ve started to re-rip my CDs in Apple Lossless and wanted to know which of the above devices would be best to play my music without needing my PS3? Can I use either of these devices without using my laptop? Any advice would be appreciated.
