I currently have a Cyrus 6XPD amp and have been kindly purchased for Christmas a pair of Grado SR325e headphones. I have also been given a Pro-Ject Head Box DS headphone amplifier which would make it easier for me to access the headphones rather than leave them plugged into the Cyrus- young hands are not trusted!

What would be best way to connect these together and any recommended cables as well? I have my Cyrus CD6 and Audio-technica ATLP5 both connected by Cyrus interconnects but cost for another Cyrus interconnect looks high

THanks for any help guys and gals

Assuming you're not actually using it for a Zone 2, you can use the Zone 2 / Tape output from your Cyrus to feed the analogue inputs of your headphone amp.

Note that any selected Cyrus input (with the exception of input 6) can be heard via the headphone amp.

(You've then even got the option of feeding the headphone amp (in a another room?) with a different input to the one feeding the speakers - Cyrus manual shows how)

As long as it's decent quality, I wouldn't worry too much about the type of interconnect.

Incidentally, I've got a front, panel mounted headphone socket permanently connected to my Cyrus amp's rear H/P socket - allowing for easier headphone removal. You could of course do the same if, after comparing them, you preferred Cyrus to Project headphone output.
