HDMI Versions

Hi all, I currently have a QED Reference HDMI cable, I bought this back in early 2006.

To be honest I haven't a clue what version it is but as I have just invested in a new LCD & blu ray will this cable suffice or will I need to look elsewhere.

A quick explanation of HDMI versions would also be helpful.
