HDMI- signal degradation over a length

I am using a 5m long VDH flat HDMI from my amp to my tv. My question is- would the 5m cable produce a worse picture than a 2m length of the same cable? Would there be more errors at this length like with most longer hdmis?

I believe that 10m is the length that you need to start using devices that boost the signal. 5m should be fine.
