HDMI glitch? - Black screen for a few seconds

I keep getting a glitch when watching TV of a black screen appearing for a few seconds then the picture coming back.

I have an Panasonic 50" plasma connected to a Onkyo 606 and a Sky HD box (all HDMI connections). When watching Sky totally at random the screen will go black, the Onkyo will click then about 3 seconds later the picture will come back, the audio is unaffected.

Any ideas what the issue is, its been doing for a few months now, some evenings it can happen 4 or 5 times other evenings nothing. Its does not make any difference which channel I'm non (HD or non HD) and I've tried swapping out the HDMI cables but it makes no difference.

Had this on Virgin a few times a reboot of V+ box usually fixes try a Sky reset.

Can also be a sign that your box is overheating a little, and causing it to fail - if you've got your Sky box in a closed cabinet, with other boxes on top, etc, might want to consider re-arranging things.

Have you tried installing the latest firmware updates

this usually sorts out minor glitches

Thanks for the replies but:

Sky box is rest at least once a week as it crashes alot!
Sky box is not in a cabinet so no heat issues
All firmware is already upto date

Obvious question, but is your Sky box set to Automatic for display as this will cause a delay between the 576p and 1080i (and reverse) when changing channels (basically between HD and SD and back again)?
