Hi,

I have been reading some blogs were the author thinks that there is no difference in quality between a cheap HDMI calbe and an expensive one.

What do you think? Do expensive ones make a difference?

If you feel you can see/hear a difference when using a more expensive one, buy it. If you don't, don't.

I happen to use good quality HDMI cables in my system as I feel they make a difference, but no-one's twisting your arm...

This ones easy. If the cable costs 50% of what you spent on your set-up, don't bother. If the cable costs 1% of what you spent on your set-up, go for it.

Though of course if you use longer runs of HDMI cable you may need to spend a tad extra.

But there's a world of superb-performing, sensibly priced cables between cruddy free-in-box jobs and multi-hundred-pound designs.

Whether cheap or expensive, they are universally awful in one respect - their connections.

Whoever designed such a pathetic plug/socket arrangement should be shot......or worse. DVI-D is at least secure.

Absolutely agree - and to think they only ditched the retainers in order to cram more in on the back of products. You'd be amazed how many HDMI cables we've junked after they've failed following a few plug/unplug cycles of the kind that happen a lot during a busy reviewing schedule.

Totally agree with you on the above quote. The latest connections are flimsy little s""t's and one hard knock with something and its a goner.
