Like the idea of Ethernet data transmission included within the cable. The question is when will suppliers start to incorporate this into their products?

Standard needs to be finalised by the end of next month; products expected to start appearing later this year.

Given that many manufacturers have already launched or announced, I suspect it'll really start to kick in with the 2010 model year ranges.

Yep, looking at that timeframe, i'd expect to see early product announcements at the big Autumn shows (IFA: CEDIA US: CEATEC) and a blitz of kit launches at CES next January. But then with so many companies' R&D budgets slashed by the recession, who knows....

Is 4096x2160 resolution close then? What with blu-rays being only 1080p?

Wow, would take films to an insanely realistic quality on big screens! Will 1.4 be backwards compatible with 1.3b/c? So if i connected a 1.4 standard projector to a 1.3 standard blu-ray player will the connectors be the same and will it play the 1080p video?

Thanks Andrew!
