HD INTERCONNECTION RECOMMENDATIONS

I am in the process of putting a TV system together comprising of the following items:-

Panasonic TH-42PZ81B with FREESAT and FREEVIEW

Onkyo SR606

SKY HD

Panasonic DMP BD50

PS3

I am planning to use the following interconnections:-

Onkyo O/P to TV (HDMI V1.3 lead for Audio and Video)

PS3 to Onkyo (HDMI V1.3 lead for Audio and Video)

BD50 to Onkyo (HDMI V1.3 lead for Audio and Video)

SKY HD to Onkyo (HDMI V1.1 lead for Video / Optical for Audio)

My questions are:-

1. Is my choice of connections for the SkyHD the best ? Are there other choices?

2. How would you suggest that I ensure that the TV-generated FREESAT and FREEVIEW sound is sent to the Onkyo ?

3. Will the PS3 benefit from high-quality HDMI cable like QED or will a budget suffice ?

4. Will a V1.3 compatable HDMI lead work on a V1.1 connection?

Not one of your questions, but why do you want SKY HD and Freesat together?

If you have SKY HD, you dont need Freesat?

Answer to question 2) is the panasonic TH-42PZ81B & the onkyo SR606 both have digital audio outputs/inputs,

so what you need is optical digital cable to connect to them. All sound will then be sent to your onkyo.
