sony 40kdlw,sky hd,ps3,Onkyo TX-SR606,kef2005.2

i've connected hd box and ps3 to the amp via hdmi then from the amp to the tv via hdmi but i can't seem to get hd audio? i've tried a few blue ray discs(pirates 1+2+3, bond) and no luck, any ideas where i'm going wrong?

pcm multichannel hdmi, on top display then on main display it just scrolls through mono,stereo,multi channel and some theatre 3d at no point do the letters hd appear

To get hd audio from sky need to connect it to amp with a optical lead an then on the sound menu of sky change optical setting to dolby digital. It does not work from hdmi only gives stereo sound to decoder. Had same issue myself get the lead as well worth it. Can put the hdmi lead either to TV or amp up to you if go to TV can use tv speakers if you dont wont to watch eastenders in surround.

The PS3 only supplies PCM Multichannel via the HDMI cable and, yes, it is HD Audio. If you want to see HD Audio on your amp then you'll have to connect the PS3 by another means.....but you won't get full surround sound if you do.

Incidently, if you hit the select button on the PS3 remote during playback of a movie, the audio format is displayed on the TV.
