Three months away, I can see a few cosmetic changes and the forum does look a bit busier. Which is very good. When I left in early September, activity seemed to be petering out. Three pages into the 'Active Topics' you ran into threads that were a week old or more.

PP tried an Electro CDP, which wasn't enough to topple the Naim (and caused a row, which ended in a temporary banning...which wasn't PP) .....that's about it. *biggrin*

someone has started another cable thread which has gone down the usual route of a slanging match between those who can hear a difference and those who can't, think someone added some science in there also just for a change.

*help*

lol same old same old, then.

Hey don't knock the difference a digital cable can make, I upgraded the micro-USB cable that I use to connect my DSLR to my computer and you want to see the vibrance of the colours now when I pull the photos off the camera's memory card. I'd swear the photos were taken by a better DSLR! Though I can't make my mind up whether they're even better when I read the SD card direct from the slot on my Mac...

(there is a risk someone who doesn't know my opinion of old will take me seriously)

I was recently ill for a couple of weeks then hospitalised for a further fortnight. So I was away from the forum for about a month.

Under other circumstances it would have been nice to be away from it 🙂

The experience has rather hit the 'reset' button on my interest in hi-fi (absolutely none right now), so my interest here is going to be somewhat limited for a while. (Strange as I have actually saved so much money in the last month that I can now afford a few quite 'interesting' options.)

I am looking in here a bit every day, now I am back home, but books (and audio books and dramas, comedies etc.) are my 'thing' right now.

Think my interest in any of my hobbies comes and goes in fads. Sometimes I'm all over my cameras and photography, then sometimes it's HiFi. On top of that I maintain some older cars, and I write music on my computer / keyboard. The hobby currently enjoying all my attention is writing music.

Hi welcome back I like to keep an eye on things like you I have one or two hobbies so there always some thing going on

I was treated to tickets to see the Who in Nottingham last weekend that was a Blast

Yes it's strange how interest in hobbies ebbs and flows, one constant though, seems men of a certain age have to have something to become obsessive, expert, and interested in!
