since the changes to the SKY + HD main menu it seems that the sound of the current program will always be audible whilst browsing the tv guide.
will I be able to set the new remote (when it arrives) to auto-mute each time I select the viewing guide?
at the moment I just mute the tv each time.
hope somebody can assist.

You should be able to -

Go into -

Activity (watch Sky TV) then Customise Buttons then Add Sequence then simply add mute as an option to the Guide button.

Cheers.

Programming the harmony one is very simple Mohawk. You tell it what devices you have and it works out, what you probably want to do. It gets it right 95% of the time. But you can always tweak it a bit to suit if it doesn't quite do all you want it to do.

The trouble with adding the mute function to the Guide button as part of a sequence is when you press the Back Up button to return to the program, you're going to have to press mute again manually. Hopefully Sky will eventually disable the audio if the 'mini TV' is off or at least give us the option to have the EPG music on/off, which I think was always an option with the old EPG.

what an amazing product, took me just over 1/2 an hour to set up,couple of glitches that it seems to have sorted.
4 remotes in the cupboard.
still going to use my Primare remote as it looks great(and cost £150)
the sub needs manual switching from hi-fi to av so I will use the Quad remote for the 2 settings needed.

I thought it was to good to be true.
on the phone to the philipines (Logitech HQ)for an hour today because the remote does not go to the correct input without ajustment every time.
I'll give them a couple of days to sort it or get a refund,I don't doubt the product, just my ability to keep it going and I've noticed that the phone and e-mail help is only free for 90 days.
a real shame.

I've had my Harmony remotes for years and can still contact them via phone and email, so I don't know where you're getting the 90 day support from. There is a contact link within the software. They're usually very good with sorting out any issues. Also, have you considered signing up to the official Logitech Harmony forums where you can share information and learn from other users? Also try googling "Logitech Harmony One Discussion". What exactly are you having trouble with?

PS. I don't ever remember them being based in the Philippines!

I know the call center is in the philipines because the lady I spoke to said so and the 90 day issue is printed on the box the remote came in.
I'm going to stick with it as I do believe it's a great product and I just have a glitch.
the glitch is this.
I have
TV
SKY+ HD
Yamaha ysp 1100
Pana bdp

the only error is that when I choose watch tv or play dvd the correct hdmi input is not selected,it picks one of nine various inputs eg. pc,channel 1,dtv 9.
any help will be much appreciated.

You are going to have to programme the Harmoney one using our old remotes to get some things to work.

There is a learn mode in the software supplied.

Basically this is the sequence:

First make sure that the Harmoney knows the codes to send for each of the remote button presses on the original remotes.

To check this. Set the harmoney into Device mode and check for each device if it's buttons do what you expect. Make a note of any that do not or that don't work.

Now connect the Harmoney to the PC and using the old remotes for each device teach the Harmony the right codes. You do this by having the old remote facing the harmoney. The software will guide you.

Now go back to the activities menu for the Harmony and tell it what to switch on for each activity. You might have to create a new activity for some things like say watching Sky. You can programme the harmoney to tell it which devices are masters and which are slaves and which HDMI input to select on the TV or reciever for each activity.

It takes a bit of doing and don't expect to get it right first time. Iron out the problems you have one by one.

It took me about 3 days to get it to control my TV, HiFi, DVD player and CD player. It is fiddly but you can make it do exactly what you want eventually.

thanks for this but most of this has been done.I went through the learn program and used the old remotes.it got to the stage when if I touched "watch tv" the tv came on,the soundbar set itself to stereo mode for tv and the sky box came on BUT it was to the incorrect input.
for dvd the same thing happens.
I appreciate peoples responses.

I presume it is the TV that is going to the incorrect input? Did you google what I suggested as the link will take you to a site that has covered this numerous times before?

I agree with the others - just stick with it.

I use mine now for everything (apart from Wii).

Yes, occasionally I have to hit the HELP button, but it sorts itself. I have a DVD/HD Recorder so I have one ACTIVITY which is WATCH HDD and another which is WATCH DVD. Sometimes because the unit has to power up the Harmony misses changing the player from DVD to HDD or vice versa. I have set a delay to take this into account, but nothings perfect so from time to time I simply hit the HELP button.

Still far better than having all the remotes lined up and much more controllable than my Amp's remote commander function and way simpler to operate.

Again as stated by others I have never had a problem on the couple of occasions that I have had to contact Harmony - superb service and FOC.

All the best to all.

numerous phone calls and e-mails later and I was contacted by a lady from Canada who was a Tier 2 Technician.
over 2 hours on the phone to her yesterday during which time I must have updated the remote at least 8 or 9 times but at the end of the session the word "Hallelujah" was shouted out.
seems to be working well.
thanks all for interest and/or help.
