Hard drive lossless music - what to use?

Having ditched my all-in-one box chunky, noisy HTPC I bought a blu-ray player and TViX HD m6500a.

The TViX gives poor video playback compared to my old PC and doesn't come anywhere near the Sony blu-ray player. However, all I want from the hard drive is music really. I so miss the on-the-fly playlists from my lossless audio collection which was on my HTPC via Media Center. Yes, the TViX plays them back at surprisingly good quality given that it's forte is supposed to be video, but getting from one track to the next is a long job, no on-the-fly playlists there!

Apart from building myself another HTPC to use Media Center for just music I can't see any other option on the market. Does anyone know of one?

I don't want to stream music as it means leaving the PC upstairs on all the time, I want a hard drive player that'll output a digital signal to my Onkyo 905 amp that is capable on-the-fly playlists.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Mac Mini?

You can create on-the-fly playlists using iTouch with Remote App.

John Duncan:

Apple TV would be my first thought (and it would cover video quite nicely as well), but I'm not sure about it's on-the-fly capabilities. I shall investigate and get back to you.

Thanks John, I had an investigate but from what I can see it only has 160gb hard drive, I'd need at least 500gb.

Seems to work out very expensive for what you get.
