Group test - is the Philips 9664 worth two LG LH5000s?

I'm lucky enough to be able to afford the Philips 9664 but really need to see the extra value over the LG LH5000 (I haven't got it to throw away). I know it's all personal choice but the Philips is double the price. Having tested both, can you list the things that the Philips has over the LG and whether you believe the extra £1k is justified?

im also in the same position as you and today i went to my local dealer to purchase the 9664 however im a bit confused they were running sky sports2 hd and it was the highlights of last nights champions football and the ghosting on the players was appalling and i fault do i want to splash out all what i have saved for this quality. so please whfi tell me how has this lcd won your 40 2 42inch super test,

are the others even worse on the market at the moment, whats going on i want good hd footy as it stands at present my 6 year old crt looks better on sd,

please advise anyone
