Hello everybody,

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I'm kind of new to this hifi thing, having just picked up my first proper system a few weeks ago. I figured a good introduction would be to tell you all what I have, so you can critique to your hearts content.

Hifi

Marantz PM5004 amp

Dali Zensor 1 Speakers

macbook pro/ipod acting as a source, until I can afford something better

PC/Gaming

Bose Companion 5 speakers

Sennheiser PC 360 headphones

Creative X-Fi HD USB soundcard (acting as a headphone amp/DAC and audio input for the consoles)

Home Cinema

Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1 speakers

PS3 (acting as blu-ray/dvd/cd player)

Mobile

Shure SE535 in-ears

Grados SR-80i on-ears

5th gen ipod touch/ HTC one X acting as source

a (very uneccessary) Fiio E17 alpen DAC/Headphone amp

So thats a brief introduction of my gear. As for myself, I have a pretty broad taste in music, from Jazz, to hip-hop, to Extreme Death metal, and most things inbetween. I'm currently rocking to Jethro Tull as I type this.

Any suggestions on what I should be buying next, or what I really shouldn't have bought, are greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Everyone has a different taste in music along with a certain way we like things to sound. My suggestion would be to sit back and relax and enjoy the system you have built. Then if you find one day that you feel something is lacking ask away. If you give a specific improvement (tighter bass, clearer vocals etc) it will be easier to suggest what to try.

Oh, and if you are happy with your system then stay away from hi-fi shows / dealers. 🙂 You end up hearing fantastic systems which leads to disappointment when you get home and a desire to upgrade. 🙂
