Hi,

I have a Panasonic TH42 PX80 and I have noticed that my screen has what seems like thousands of flashing/pulsating green sparkles/dots. This is over the whole screen mainly noticeble up close but can be seen at a distance , during dark scenes on occassion.

These are not dead pixels.

Is this a fault with the screen?

Is this on all inputs? i.e. freeview tuner, dvd, BD, PS3 if applicable?

I don't get it on my 42PX80 either. Try turning off all of the processing. If that doesn't work, call the supplier.

All processing is off, cinema mode, contrast and brightness below half, colour setting warm.

It is a hard thign to explain, sparkles may not be the right word, it is like the snow on a untuned in TV channel except very mild and also is only green, virtually invisible unless on dark backgrounds and close up.

Have tried different HDMI cables as well. It might be a normal Plasma thing and I am seeing something that others would expect to see.

It is a bit odd, I must admit.

I am yet to use the HDMI sockets (QED scarts from DVD & SKY+), but if you are getting any sort of sparkles/speckles/snow etc I think that you have a problem. I would advise phoning the shop where you bought it from and if they re not interested try Panasonic.
