my t.v is a panasonic pz81 50 " plasma and pioneer sc-lx81 and pioneer BDP-x71 and i am using vandenhaul flat HDMI cables.

my question is how to get best picture from my Blu- Ray player i think it looks grainy

should tv over scanning picture be on or off?

on the blu ray player there is 1080p or auto source direct and 60HZ and 24 HZ anyone know which is correct?

i take my HDMI from back of pioneer sc -lx81 where i have 6 terminals, i am using bd in then out hdmi ctrl terminal to tv am i losing picture quality by doing this? and should i go straight from blu ray to tv with hdmi lead then to my amp with a fibre optic cable by doing this do i then lose out on hd dts sound and my dolby true hd soundtrack.

Any help on these issues wouldbe greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

Your connections are fine, you need the HDMI going in to the amp for HD audio.

Turn overscan OFF, set the player to output 1080p24.

The grain you describe may be film grain, what Blues have you watched? Try a good transfer such as Transformers or Cars.
