I use both the ic and the speaker cable and for the price it does the job just fine.
I find the majority of cables i have used over the years to be not much different from one another so spending huge amounts of money imo is a waste of money, i would rather buy more music
however there are many who believe they hear a difference and good on them but i cant so i use the best made product i can afford purely for reliability reasons. Maplins do a speaker cable at £1.29 a metre which is as good as anything else i have heard including the gotham cable so you could start there.
