Got home tonight and...

Considering your recent experiences, I expected to read something like, "Got home tonight and... found hifi had been struck by freak meteorite. Insurance company refuse to even talk to me this time."

basshound:Bet you daren`t mention the other two ;-)

Yes I will, they are HFN and HFC, and they both have smaller circulations than the market leader in this sector.

To be honest I'm also considering a subscription to HF+ too (which also has a much much much smaller circulation and target audience than the market leader).

(My excuse is that they do a lot of turntable related articles/letters etc.)

My excuse is its a damn good mag.

I should add that I have bought a few WHF's and a couple of Ultimate Guides in the last year.

(Before I get slung out for disloyalty!)

True.

(Oh and some 'Gramophone' issues too. I like free classical disks and the equipment reviews are better. AE doing his stuff.)

Gribbit!

No really. Gramophone equipment reviews always seem to give of an air of wingback leather armchairs and a nice glass of Port. You get the feeling they are trying this stuff at home with a crackling fire, in a panelled library, with a labrador, and shelves groaning with rare 1st editions!*

Some reviews in other mags have seemed a bit like the labrador drank the port and wrote them instead

*This is why I was suprised at Gramophone reviewing the Neat Motive 2's. You can't rest a pile of 1st editions on them easily.

Although of course wingback chairs play merry havoc with stereo imaging and soundstaging. But one of these comes in handy when reviewing open-back headphones...

Suffice it to say that my favourite magazines are the ones that take me longest to read, those that have the most features on hifi.
